Start Your Own Spanish Immersion Program

Are you a mom entrepreneur thinking about starting a Spanish Immersion program for young children?

Or are you struggling to get your language program to grow?

I’ve helped many moms like you start their own successful Spanish immersion programs:

From Marcela Caro, Mpressaria and director of La Casa Grande Spanish Programs for Children:

“In March 2011, I came up with the idea of forming a group for parents who wanted to raise their sons and daughters bilingual. Through this program, I scheduled activities for moms and children where they could learn and play together in Spanish. After a few months, parents and preschool administrators became interested in my program and I subsequently created a mobile program which I deliver to preschools and daycares in Central New Jersey.

As a new teacher, I came across many challenges and Ana’s e-guide taught me to use new strategies to keep parents and their children engaged with the lessons. One of my favorite tools I gleaned from Ana is Storytelling. I love to read stories to children. Our favorite is “Caperucita Roja y el Lobo Malo” (Little Red Riding Hood and the Bad Wolf) from Ana Lomba. The book is easy to read, simple and entertaining. The book also includes a CD which I play during our puppet and pretend play time.

Ana’s e-guide also talks about the importance of preparing parents prior to sessions. I remember parents bringing laptops and texting while the class was in progress. Ana recommended sharing a hand out with do’s and don’ts to make the class more efficient and successful. Once I started giving written expectations, parents were more focused, engaged, and respectful.

Ana has been an invaluable resource and my group continues to grow as a result.”

We are thankful to Ana for the inspiration that she shared with the many educators in attendance."

Jean Modig, Vice President and Conference Chair, Foreign Language Educators of New Jersey (FLENJ)

"The method of storytelling using familiar stories is great. The imagination and creativity theatrics are wonderful to use with children. The use of movement and music with language teaching is so powerful! You've once again stirred my creative juices. Thanks for giving time to create and share ideas."
